Caren Camp currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband John. Caren started her career in New York City in the fashion industry working for Lilly Pulitzer, Jaeger of London, and Estée Lauder cosmetics. Caren has lived in Charlottesville, Virginia; Los Angeles, California; North Carolina and Northern Virginia for the past thirty years. After staying home for eleven years to raise two boys she decided to get back into work and joined HelmsBriscoe in the meeting planning industry. Caren has been a recovering alcoholic for thirty two years and has learned valuable information by being part of Alcoholics Anonymous. Over the course of her life she has lived in many places, and has worked in a number of industries. She and her husband adopted their two boys. Caren recently wrote the book, Life Lessons of an American Woman. Caren wrote this book to share life experiences which were difficult and yet rewarding, so that it might be easier for others who are facing similar challenges
